Researching and Experimenting with Embryo's

In recent news some scientists have decided they wish to extend the time period in which they can study and experiment on embryos from 14 days to 28, so double what they are already given. This topic has always been a sensitive issue and one which has always caused massive uproar and debate in the media and globally.

The majority of the public claim these experiments as morally wrong as they are messing with a natural and living subject. Also there is belief some scientists may exploit this opportunity and experiment beyond the legal time allowed, potentially beyond birth.

On the other hand, however, there are arguments that an embryo has no conscience yet so will not know of anything that has happened by the time it becomes a foetus and then a living person. As well as this there is plenty of research and experimental advancements which cannot be made without this extended time period so there is potential we are missing some vital information that may bring further developments to our health etc.

A solution to this would be to potentially extend the time period but at the same time ensure there are strict policies and regulations which stop any exploitation of the extension and avoid any morally wrong activities form occurring.
