Smart Farming

Essentially not all ethical topics have negatives outweighing the positives. For example within the following story, found on the BBC news page, farmers in Africa are now looking at more viable options which could make farming quicker and easier. The story explores the use of drones to observe and analyse vast areas of farm land and crops.
Whilst this topic does have issues such as a reduction in job opportunities and the need for specialist skills and equipment it may still be a more sustainable option. With the reduction of emissions which would usually be produced by vehicles farmers currently use to examine the crops, and the potential for farmers to save a lot of money in the long term, this particular concept does have the potential to be a more ethical and sustainable way of working.
With a little more work and improvements like training farmers in the use of the equipment and maybe utilising eco-friendly power supplies to charge the drones this idea could prove to be a success.
Feedback: using drones for wrong doing, the cost and issues of making them, what happens when they are broken? Conclusion: there are a lot of mixed opinions but potentially can be a good and ethically right tool to use.
